This massive wooden shield is an accurate reproduction of the classic Norman Shield carried during the Crusades. It displays a hand painted face depicting the symbol of Christendom. This medieval shield is complete with leather gripping straps on the back.
The size and strength of the shield is typical of an era when such large personal weaponry was used with such motivated ferocity to pummel and gauge one's adversary in combat. This is a classic design that displays well with any classic medieval sword.
